Dragon Age Inquisition: The Knight-EnchanterFilarick’s magical power revealed itself when he was 6 and he was brought into the Circle at Ostwick, he lived a fairly quiet life and as he grew up he found that he quite liked magic, Barrier magic being his favorite, though along with learning Barriers he had to learn quite a bit about healing magic as well. At the age of 13 he started down the path of a Knight-Enchanter and became a fully-fledged Knight-Enchanter at age 18, such a position had him do quite a bit of work for the Chantry which he was happy enough to do as at times it got him actual combat experience which showed him just how far he’d come and how much he could still improve. In the time after he became a Knight-Enchanter he ended up in a few larger battles in which he lead small groups of soldiers into battle. He lost more than his fair share of men and women over the course of the next few years in those various battles. Most of the deaths were not his fault but all of them haunted him and continue to do so.When news the Mage Rebellion made its way to his circle he fled from the Free Marches, not wanting to end up on the wrong side of an angry mob, and made his way to Andoral’s Reach where his fellow Mages were gathering and where the final vote for independence took place, he was conflicted as he felt that he should remain faithful to the Chantry but his fellow mages made a good argument and in the end, he decided not to side with the Loyalists and followed the rebellion, though he mainly aided the rebellion by healing injured, not fighting, he had friends who were Templars and he didn’t want to be in a position where he might have to kill one of them.Eventually, he ended up in Redcliffe alongside the Rebel Mages, he’d slowly been becoming doubtful in the leadership and when the Conclave exploded and it looked like things were just going to get worse for the rebellion, he decided it was time to leave and ended up in the Refugee Camp that the Revered Mother Giselle was in and asked if he could help her with the sick and injured, though the people were wary of him, the Revered Mother placated their worries after she knew he was a Knight-Enchanter and would rather be working with the Chantry than the Rebels. When the Inquisitor eventually came to the camp and he saw that the Revered Mother was going to go to Haven, he joined the inquisition and traveled with her to Haven (Where he became an optional companion, if he isn’t then he tends to the wounded and does whatever missions he is assigned)

Personality
Filarick tends to be the typical naggy healer, yelling at frequent flyers in his clinic/healer hut. While being very lighthearted, he is known to be overly serious, especially to someone in charge of him. However with encouragement and time he is willing to become more comfortable with people, even to the point of giving a Commanding officer a scolding.
On the flip side, if Filarick is put into a soldier or fighting position he will take a much more soldier who will be a boon on any battlefield. He will take on a more respectable demeanor and may even take up a leadership position in the Inquisition's army, inspiring courage and bravery in those under him. As well as sending a clear message that a mage on a battlefield is not always an easy target or something to protect, but rather feared and respected.Choices and their effects:

Veilguard: The Warden EnchanterBorn in Ostwick within the Free Marches, he was brought to the circle when his magic revealed itself at age 6. He would grow up in a fairly standard fashion within the circle, but just after he began his training to become a Knight-Enchanter, the Mage rebellion began and he was taken from the safety of his circle as he and a few other mages fled to the north. Due to circumstances Filarick fell from a cliff and into a chasm leading to the deep roads, luckily or unluckily he fell into a lake and escaped with just a few bruises and a fracture in his right arm. Separated from his fellow mages, cold and wet from the underground lake, he used his magic to make a fire and wandered the terrifying darkness alone.Somehow he was found by a detachment of Antivan Wardens and even decided to join them, however he was quickly denied since he was barely 12 years old. Instead he trained under Warden Enchanters and progressed in his original goal of becoming a Knight-Enchanter, even if he would never truly be one. As the years went by he saw many people he saw as parents and older siblings die, undiscouraged he refused any offer to live a normal life and did the joining on the day after his 18th birthday. After surviving his joining he spent most of his service as a Warden within Antiva, meeting Varric and Harding during an unfortunate debacle between Wardens and Crows which Varric somehow managed to smooth over. In doing so Varric saved a Hotheaded Warden that Filarick saw as an older sibling from dying of crow poison and so Filarick swore that if Varric or Harding ever needed anything that he would aid them however he could.Harding would later tell Rook of him and he is met in the Drowned District at the top of the tower behind the dock warehouse. He is grateful to Rook for allowing him to repay his debt and placing him in one of the best spots to stop the blighted gods.

Filarick, while being very lighthearted is also known to be overly serious, especially to someone in charge of him, often going straight to honorifics over their name or nicknames. However if he gets too heated or comfortable he has a tendency to start treating comrades like he did the wardens he grew up with, like family.

Mass Effect 1 Verse: The SentinelBorn in 2157 on Earth, he was found to be a biotic in 2168 and fitted with an L2 implant which at first gave him headaches but soon caused him to have mood swings that got better or worse depending on the day, later progressing to worse symptoms and becoming more mentally unstable. In 2172 he requested the dangerous surgery to upgrade to an L3, the surgery was a success and his mental state steadily became much more stable over the course of the next 2 years, and was able to join the Alliance Military in 2175 at age 18. He joined the Military because of the large number of incentives given to biotics who joined and he decided to become a Sentinel with a focus on being a medic. As the years went by he climbed to the rank of Staff Sergeant and was chosen to join the Normandy crew under Captain Anderson by recommendation of Doctor Karin Chakwas who knew the doctor he’d worked under before his current promotion. He admires Shepard for quite a few reasons and thinks they were a good choice for a Spectre and is proud to serve under them once they take command of the Normandy.

Once approved he wandered around the fringes of the NCR, before ending up in the Mojave, finding companionship in a dog named Canis along the way, and made his way around helping people in what ways he could. Even as a child he was full of curiosity and a love for the world around him, eagerly helping his mother with her clerical duties as well as fishing with his father on the sea as a teenager. His thirst for knowledge expanded from just worldly things and into the realm of magic, this interest encouraged by the city of Waterdeep as well as his own mother.Through his mother he gained a Wizard mentor and progressed quickly in his studies, happily forgoing many regular experiences of teens and young adult for them. As time passed he grew into a fine Wizard and ardent worshipper of Oghma, becoming a friendly and knowledgeable man if somewhat lacking in real world experience outside of a church or library. To amend this hole in his knowledge he left on a sort of pilgrimage across the sword coast only to be picked up by the Nautiloid near the city of Yartar.
